Loneliness Awareness Week
Posted or Updated on 4 Jun 2025
Loneliness Awareness Week 2025 takes place from 9th to 15th June, presenting a valuable opportunity to address the growing concern of loneliness. This year's theme, "Meeting Loneliness Together," emphasises reducing the stigma around this natural human emotion and encourages collective efforts to foster connections.
Why This Matters:
If loneliness is very severe or lasts a long time, it might increase the risk of some physical conditions such as dementia and mental health conditions such as stress, anxiety, low mood or depression.
Loneliness is a feeling most of us will experience - but stigma keeps us silent. Together we can talk about loneliness, understand loneliness, challenge stigma, and create space for honest discussion.
Hosted by Marmalade Trust, Loneliness Awareness Week has thousands of people across the UK and globally getting involved. From street parties to coffee mornings – businesses, community groups, charities, and individuals can use this as an opportunity to showcase how they help people connect.
